On the heels of a dominant championship and 8 win season in the 2017 North American Formula 1000 Championship presented by American Racer Tire, Alex Mayer, driver of the #77 Technotec’s / Wilwood Brakes / JDR from Mayer Motorsports, will head to Barcelona for a 3 day test with Jenzer Motorsports.
Opportunities for a seat in multiple F4 series, as well as GP3 are all possibilities for Mayer’s 2018 campaign. Mayer said, “ I am very excited for the opportunity to not only drive on an iconic European track, but also showcase my talents against the best drivers in the European ladder system.”
After only a single season of Formula 1000 in North America, the world has taken notice. Not only is the 2017 champion headed to Europe, but European F1000 team, Griip F1000 is headed to the U.S. for the 2018 season.
